It's Time To Close Our Doors...

After 13 years in business, 6 of which have been under my ownership, Bassinets & Blueberries will be branching off in a new direction. Sadly, we will be closing our 17th St. retail location. Happily, we will be available for nursery design appointments for custom bedding, furniture, art, lighting, flooring, window treatments and accessories.

For those of you who don’t know me well, I am looking forward to getting back to concentrating on my aesthetic roots. Trained as an art historian and with substantive experience with set decorating—both motion picture and television: retail interior design—stores here in Southern California and New York City, as well as, theme park design and purchasing for Disney—projects here in Orange County and Japan, I love to marry my interests in babies and children with my background to fulfill customers’ dreams of fantasy nurseries.

Several members of our current staff will join me in this new endeavor. We will also launch a new website featuring Bassinets & Blueberries favorites. We will offer local delivery to showers and homes by hand with our signature wrap and gift basket options available. We may be a bit old fashioned, but we want to serve our customers with personal attention and unique merchandise. In this new retail world, we think that a website and design appointment combination will best serve our customers at the most effective prices.

We urge all of you who like to shop in a boutique environment to go out this summer and buy from your favorite boutiques. We cannot emphasize how vital it is for you to commit your dollars along with your praise to those shopkeepers willing to pay rent and stock inventory to provide you a retail experience that is both pleasurable and immediately available for purchase. Shopping locally not only provides you with the pleasure of shopping, it keeps tax dollars and charity donations circulating in your neighborhoods.

It’s been such a pleasure getting to know successive years of new Bassinets & Blueberries babies, mother, fathers and their families. We would love updates and are only a phone call or Facebook question away. Southern California is a special place, we need to continue to create unique environments in which our children will flourish and enjoy a promising future.
